2005 08 17 Shakedown

Met Aug 17 to test Sakai deployment.

Notes:

  • Need to customize welcome / gateway page (known issue)
  • Academic terms - need to start with Fall 2005; may not need entries for the really old terms in that pulldown.
  • Yale CAS logout url= value needs to change in production Jira SKI-93
  • Concen about "Users Present" box on left hand of site – do all users want to appear in this box?
  • Concern about "Who's here" box in chat – do all present users want to appear in this box?
  • Students have permissions link on Drop box but they can't actually edit permissions.
  • Jive forums integration and "no forums found" message: could improve message.
  • Tools in default sites: reminder that Assignments tool should not be in default site.

    The issue with "Who's Here?" is not just whether the users want to appear, but what Yale is permitted by FERPA to show a) by default and b) regardless of what the student wants.
