Channel URL tricks

This page is for providing example of URLs that navigate to / provision particular channels in YaleInfo.

Jumping directly to a channel

You can create hyperlinks outside of YaleInfo which link to particular channels in YaleInfo.

Without authentication

You can construct a link that will jump a user directly to a publicly viewable channel.

With authentication

You can construct a link that will log a user in through CAS and then focus on a particular channel. The user must have permission to subscribe to the channel, but need not have actually subscribed to the channel.

In progress Links do not work quite yet...

With parameters

You can specify parameters to a channel when you address it by fname. This is useful for configuring the channel. For intance, you can produce a URL linking to the YaleInfo RSS reader channel specifying a particular RSS feed.
