Steps to Go Live With Phase One

Step 1: Trusted Recons Only

  • Implementation of HR and SIS trusted source connectors.
  • All data from trusted sources is coming into OIM.
  • UPI is generated by OIM.
  • Matching and error reports are in use and corrections are made by custom web application.

Step 2: Write Backs to trusted sources

  • Student records are written to HR from OIM.
  • Netids written back to SIS and HR
It is possible to go live at this point. This would give us experience and confidence in the system before introducing automatic instantaneous provisioning. In addition we would have in place production support mechanisms such as monitoring to determine from experience how to detect errors in the system. If we go live here:
  • OIM does not provision netids. Netids are created as now.
  • OIM does not populate directory. Directory created as now.
  • OIM netids (temporarily) obtained from unchanged netid system This is the one necessary extra extra component to go live here.

Step 2: Netid Provisioning

  • Netid system changed to generate new netids from OIM events.
  • Old netid processes are retired.

LDAP Provisioning

  • Handling of newly designed confidential indicators and
  • address handling is in place
  • email alias integrated
