h2. What is uPortal and what does it have to do with YaleInfo?

uPortal is a free sharable portal under development by institutions of higher education; its a project of the [Java Architectures Special Interest Group (JA-SIG)|http://www.ja-sig.org].

YaleInfo is an implementation and [customization|YaleInfo customizations] of uPortal. Yale has had many occasion to make some great [contributions to the architecture and functionality of uPortal|Yale uPortal contributions].
