The tests themselves are quite good, I think, since they test a 
near-real situation using the (local) network. So I don't think there's 
a lot that can be done without losing the power of those tests. But it 
may be a good idea to put a clear warning somewhere that those tests 
will fail if your local firewall is set too restrictive.

Maybe the tests can use a more common port, but I think that's asking 
for trouble.
