[cas-dev] JA-SIG CAS Client vs. Yale CAS Client

Jennifer,

The Yale CAS Java Client is the latest "stable" release of a Java client
for CAS. The JA-SIG CAS Client for Java is a re-architectured version
and has not had a production release yet (though the code is stable, and
we are using it in production on some of the JA-SIG sites).

There is currently no documentation for the JA-SIG CAS Client for Java,
like there is for the Yale client. The JA-SIG client distribution does
include example XML files that should be sufficient to get you set up.
We're hoping for a GA release soon.

Both releases should be sufficient for your needs. If you're concerned
that the JA-SIG client has not yet had a production release, I would
recommend the Yale client. Otherwise, the JA-SIG client should be good.
