[cas-dev] adopting JA-SIG Java CAS Client uPortal support for uP 2.6?

Andrew,

Thanks for bringing this up on the CAS list. I've responded directly to you
with regards to the timeslot for the uPortal developers meeting, where I
believe we'll resolve this :-)

But just to summarize on this list, my tentative recommendation was to move
forward with using the new Java CAS client as that will be the eventual
client in the Spring Security package (which is what uPortal 3 and other
products will use). Its more "springy" which is always nice ;-). However,
with regards to uPortal 2, it will probably make sense to stick with the
existing internal bridge APIs rather than the new ones (unless we determine
the new one is better, but I guess we can discuss that at the meeting) as
they are uPortal 2 specific. However, there is definitely no need to
maintain two almost-similar APIs.

Thanks
-Scott
