[cas-dev] CAS Working Copy

I'm trying to create a working copy of the CAS trunk from the JA-SIG
source repository.  I'm referencing instructions from
http://developer.ja-sig.org/projects/cas/multiproject/cas-server/cvs-usage.html, but neither the maven command nor cvs commands work.  I'm using maven2, so I tried the following:

m2 scm:checkout-project
	-Dmaven.scm.method=cvs
	-Dmaven.scm.cvs.module=cas
	-Dmaven.scm.cvs.root=:pserver:anonymous at developer.ja-sig.org:/home/cvs/jasig
	-Dmaven.scm.checkout.dir=.

This produced BUILD FAILED in the output, and "Required goal not found: 
scm:checkout-project" as one of the info messages.

The anonymous CVS checkout command failed with 
"cannot find module `cas' - ignored".

What is the best way to create a local working copy of the trunk of the
CAS codebase?
