I'm not a CAS developer, but if you care for a comment from
an "outsider" I'd say "go for it." I've been using CAS for
a project I'm working on, but was reluctant to go to deep
with it since it's currently under a GPL incompatible license.
And while my project isn't GPL (yet) I try to stick to code that
is at least GPL compatible in case the day comes when I need
to incorporate something that is GPL'd and therefore have to
become (or stay) GPL compatible across the board.

If you guys went to the 3 clause BSD license, I'd definitely
stick with CAS for what I'm doing.

Note that I personally don't have a problem with crediting
people for their work, but the lack of GPL compatibility alone
is enough for me (personally) to favor the 3 clause BSD license.
And since the BSD license still requires keeping the copyright
notices intact, there is always implicitly a form of attribution
in any BSD licensed code that is reused anyway.

Thanks,

Phil
