Jonathan:
I have installed Confluence as an application several ways. The
experience I would bring would be to figure out if the problem is
memory, datasources, database related, configuration, etc. My
experience with all Java apps has been that most folks install their
applications at a default configuration and then when user load gets
high, the default configs are just not sufficient. E.g. the state
applications I'm hosting don't use pooled datasources. This is
extremely important when the applications are under fair load. Also,
if you haven't followed recommended tuning changes that Atlassian has
documented, then we would want to do that right away. But, we want to
understand what needs to change and why.
My first guess is database-application related.
Thanks,
David
