Yes, that would be the problem.  Somehow I missed that one.  I had put a
semicolon on the end of the line inside (although I had removed it just
before I posted), but that one fixes the problem.  Now I'm successfully
logging in (according to the example phpCAS pages) with Kerberos.  Guess
simple syntax errors are the hardest to debug (especially when you get a
error like the one Java gave back) :)
