Basic solution for JAVA

I am begining to work with CAS.  I am developping web application using Sun Java Studio Creator and I need to integrate into an existing CAS setup.  What is the easiest way, CAS client, Tag Lib client? 

Are there any basic tutorial for JAVA. All what I found is way too complicated?
