CAS, Blackboard & LDAP

I'm currently in the process of getting one of our blackboard servers
casified using the Bristol CAS recipe.  So far I've managed to get the
casification working properly, but I also want it to be possible to log
in via LDAP and rdbms as well..
 
If I don't add a '?useCas=1' on the end of my URL then I can log in via
rdbms, which is good, but not LDAP.  All the config for LDAP is
currently there.  I have done this before - but year ago and I've lost
all my notes/source code.
 
Has anyone else tried/succeeded in doing this?
