CAS - SAML integration ?

I'm evaluating the possibility of using CAS with SAML. I found this write up
(http://jasigch.princeton.edu:9000/display/CAS/Shawn+CAS+and+SAML)

Looking at cas3, I don't see any code started for this - I'm just
wondering if there is any work currently being done on this (or when
it might begin).
