submiting to /login with curl, or cas webservice

I am sorry for re-posting this. I'd appreciate any pointers.
I found the following, http://www.ja-sig.org/wiki/display/CAS/Using+CAS
+without+the+CAS+login+screen but it seems that I cannot remove the
browser all together.
What about SOAP? I read in the dev mailing list that Rutgers uses CAS
with SOAP. Any documentation on this?
