Adding a 'payload' to the cas server - cas client first communication?

The application needs that information(where also CAS server runs) .  We are integrating a third party service on our ecommerce site and we are using CAS to implement SSO and protoecting those services. A kind of payload is used to submit their trolley contents to our's. 
Take the case in which a user submits that trolley when the session is expired, if we don't save the submitted info the user must repeat the operation again after being authenticated. 
What I was thinking is if the third party service can trasmitt to the server the payload info during authentication operation so at the end of the CAS authentication process I can save also the payload info, that's why I'm questioning the possibility to extend in some way the information passed to CAS server along with the service url.

Yes, the custom info can be part of the part of the service url but what I don't know is in which way I might extend (can I?) the cas server to read that information?
