uPortal filter to keep CAS TGT and PGT valid?

We want to make sure that the TGT and PGT do not expire while a uPortal
session is active.
 
I found an old thread from June 2004 about TGT/PGT timeouts and uPortal
(Granting Ticket Timeout for PGT).  Several people on the thread were
talking about implementing a filter for uPortal that would keep the
tickets valid.

Has anyone implemented a filter to do this and is source available?
