So, I went through this method and successfully changed the java/javac
versions. However, after the tomcat restart, though a lockfile was
created, the process never seemed to exist or perhaps crashed on start.

Has anyone successfully implemented this change and had tomcat restart?
If so, are there additional steps to have tomcat work under this new
version of java?

java -version
java version "1.6.0_01"

javac -version
javac 1.6.0_01
