I've had the exact same experience, but I chalked it up to a pretty
screwed up install and was planning on doing a clean re-install. I was
wondering which JDK versions CAS supports (I too was trying 1.6.0, b/c I
couldn't find the correct shim rpm for 1.5.12)? I don't think this
particular problem is CAS' fault though b/c tomcat crashes on start with
or without the cas.war and cas/ directory the webapps dir. I'm guessing
the RHEL 5 version of tomcat simply can't work with JDK 1.6.0 from Sun.
