Explicit User and Password

This is a very simple question so let me beg for forgiveness now!

I am using CAS client 2.0.11 and CAS server 2.0.12. My task is to log the user 
into a different application once the user clicks on a URL that points the 
user to another application/machine.  

What I have working is the user is redirected to the login screen when using 
any URL that has localhost:8080 in it.  We pass through with no problem after 
logging in with user/password.   What I have done is created a new handler for 
the specific service (based upon comments from website).  However, I don't see 
how this will work.  I have spent most of the evening reading most of the 
white-papers and forum on CAS.  The second application/server has some form of 
SSO, but it is not compatible on how the ticket is generated; therefore, I 
created my own handler.  This required me to explicitly login the user to the 
application.  Now, I just need to get CAS configured to use this handler when 
a specific URL starts with the applicaiton name.  Can this be done with CAS 2?
