LDAP integration for CAS HOWTO

Where are the best current HOWTO docs for getting current CAS to work off an
LDAP server?

We've managed to get CAS to talk with the LDAP server and, if
joe at example.com is in the LDAP server but not jane at anywhere.com, joe/joe
will authenticate but not jane/jane.

I've found links to some docs, but I'd love to have a pointer from someone
knowledgeable.
