CAS "nologin"

Hello,
we have a scenario where we have pages that should display certain
features is the user is not authenticated and extra data if the user is
logged in, but we don't want the client to have to login to see the home
page.
It seems like the java cas client will always redirect the user to a
login page, what I would like is to be able to have cas return the netid
if the user is logged in or just return without the netid if they are
not.
Our example is an online store. If the client is not authenticated, just
display the non-personalized home page without requiring a cas login. If
they are authenticated use their netid to "personalize" their home page.
Finally, when they try to access a "secure" page such as user profile,
require a login if not authenticated.
Can this be achieved with CAS?
Thanks!
Dale
