Somebody stole my subject!!:)
Anyways Scott do you have any ideas where I can go for my next trial 
To figure out why the CAS JASIG Filter (and the old Java Client for that
matter) isn't working for me?

You can front Apache Tomcat with Apache if you'd like.  You can still
use
the Java client if you want (or you can use the new mod_auth_cas).
