set and get more user attributes

I've been using the latest CAS 3.3.1 server and client java apps and got it working as expected out of the box. Aside from just getting the user Netid, I would like to add more attributes for the user on the server side so that the client side can access. Can you show me how this would be done; would be great if there examples out there. I'm using the authenticate via password from database using the JDBC support module. The user and passwords are from a database(not  LDAP).
