CAS login page in a portlet

I have a liferay portal working with CAS.
I'd like to integrate the authentication in the main page of the portal,
instead of redirect the user to the CAS SSO page and then redirect again to
the portal.
At this moment I have it working with an Iframe, but the solution It is not
satisfactory because I have some limitations.
As Liferay can integrate portlets I trying to integrate the CAS login page
in a portlet instead in an iframe

Has it been done before? Could anybody give a hand
