CAS with CAS backend

I've a question about using a CAS server as a backend for a second CAS  
server.

Essentially if CAS A holds a valid ticket then CAS B will check and  
accept this as a authentication. If not it will fall back to it's own  
list of users and present a login screen and authenticate against the  
local list.

A. Is this already possible? (If so where do I find the docs)
B. If not possible where should I start in making some modifications?
