CAS and Open ID

Hi,

 

  We are currently using CAS 3.0.6 and we would like to investigate
using it with Open ID.  The JA-SIG site
(http://www.ja-sig.org/wiki/display/CASUM/OpenID) does detail how this
can be done with CAS 3.1+.  If we wanted to use Open ID, do we need to
upgrade to CAS 3.1 or can it be done with 3.0.6?  Thanks.
