How is Person Directory integrated with CAS 3.2

I see the stub attributeRepository bean configured as a Spring bean 
service, but am not sure how it can be accessed using CAS.  We have a 
CAS installation -- however, we have the need for applications which use 
CAS for authentication to pull user details on an authenticated user by 
username, and I am hoping this is now part of CAS with the integrationof 
the person repository.  Is this the case?  If so, how do these 
applications use the service?
