CAS with apache and tomcat

I've got no trusted certificate, because the administrative frontend for 
the website don't need one, these few people can import
it. When I've imported the certificate, is it possible to put it also 
into the jvm-keystore (like it's described on the ja-sig cas-site)?
If I only import it in the user-keystore it's not found by the tomcat 
and in cause of that I have trouble with the sign-in (I've got this in 
the first tries on my dev environment).
