Site Search CAS Protected Site

Has anyone implemented a search utility for a site they run that is
protected by CAS?  We have our university intranet using CAS for
authentication.  We need to provide a search for the intranet but can't
seem to find a crawler that can either create a CAS session for crawling
or crawl via the file structure to avoid security all together.  Has
anyone done this and be willing to share what tool(s) they used?
