Scott has already answered the question. I went through a similar
learning curve and I didn't use maven to build a .war file as I know
nothing about maven. I deployed the default CAS var file and then just
added the two spring LDAP jar files to the appropriate directory
(~tomcat/webapps/cas-server-webapp-3.3/WEB-INF/lib)
