Invoke RESTful API with XML or JSON

Returning XML or JSON doesn't make the RESTful API more or less "a true REST
citizen".
You're welcome to extend the RESTful APIs to include additional accepted
formats and response formats (and contribute them back ;-)). At this time,
we're not actively including additional responses (not to say that they
wouldn't be developed at some point).
